MOCCA - code for simulation of large star cluster evolution

First, I will very shortly discuss the main ideas behind the Monte Carlo method. I will point out its advantages and disadvantages. Then I will describe the newest version of the Monte Carlo code called MOCCA, which stands for MOnte Carlo star Cluster simulAtor. I will show the results of comparison between N-body and MOCCA simulations for system as large as N=200000 and briefly describe evolution of the blue straggler population in an evolving star cluster. And finally, I will discuss very preliminary results of simulations of initially very concentrated star clusters. They suggest a new process which can be responsible for formation of IMBH seeds in star clusters and show that NSs and BHs can be formed also in the late stages of star cluster evolution.
